Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Reservation Agent
Match your degree to the role description
TN visa eligibility for Reservation Agent roles depends on your degree field aligning with hospitality, tourism, or business administration. A general arts degree may not satisfy a CBP officer without a letter tying your coursework to reservations or travel services.
Target hotel chains with dedicated HR teams
Large hospitality groups have in-house HR that already understands visa sponsorship processes and employer requirements for work visas. Smaller independent properties often lack experience sponsoring international workers and may decline without ever evaluating your candidacy.
Request a detailed employer support letter
Your TN application requires a letter from the employer stating your job title, duties, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and the intended employment period. A vague offer letter is a common reason CBP asks for secondary review.
Understand the TN visa timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must prepare a support letter documenting your job offer, qualifications, and role details before you can apply for TN status. For Canadians, you'll present this letter at a U.S. port of entry; for Mexicans, at a U.S. consulate. Plan for processing time when negotiating your start date after receiving an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Identifying hospitality employers experienced with visa sponsorship saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces Reservation Agent roles from employers with recent visa filings, so you can focus your applications where sponsorship is a realistic possibility.
Prepare for Mexican nationals to apply at a U.S. consulate
Unlike Canadians, Mexican citizens cannot use the port-of-entry expedited TN process. You'll need to schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Mexico, which adds weeks to your timeline and requires the full DS-160 application.
Reservation Agent TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Reservation Agent role actually qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree in a field like hospitality management, tourism, or business administration and the employer can document that requirement. CBP scrutinizes Reservation Agent TN applications more closely than engineering or accounting roles, so your employer's support letter must clearly articulate the degree requirement and how your specific duties justify it.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Reservation Agent jobs?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and CBP can approve it at the border the same day. H-1B visa requires USCIS petition filing, a lottery selection that caps at 85,000 slots annually, and a wait until October 1 of the fiscal year. For a qualifying Reservation Agent role, TN is a faster and more predictable path than H-1B visa.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa as a Reservation Agent?
Your employer needs to provide a signed support letter on company letterhead that states your job title, a description of duties, confirmation you hold a qualifying degree, your citizenship, and the intended employment period. You'll present this support letter along with your passport and required documentation at the U.S. port of entry or border crossing, where CBP will review your materials to determine TN eligibility.
Can I search for Reservation Agent jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, and filtering by sponsorship history matters because many hospitality employers have not sponsored TN workers before and may decline without understanding the process. Migrate Mate lets you search Reservation Agent openings from employers with demonstrated TN filing experience, so you avoid spending weeks on applications that stall at the sponsorship conversation.
What happens if CBP denies my TN application at the border for a Reservation Agent role?
CBP can deny your TN at the port of entry without a formal appeals process. You may reapply at the same crossing with additional documentation or try a different port. Common denial reasons include a degree field that does not align with the role, a vague employer letter, or insufficient evidence that a bachelor's degree is a standard requirement for the position.
