Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Radiation Therapy Technologist
Verify your credentials meet TN requirements
TN eligibility for Radiation Therapy Technologists requires a degree or diploma in radiation therapy, not just clinical experience alone. Confirm your credential meets the TN occupational classification requirements before approaching any employer about sponsorship.
Target health systems with existing TN hiring
Large hospital networks and cancer centers in border states and major metros regularly hire Canadian and Mexican radiation therapists on TN status. Facilities already familiar with TN documentation move faster and avoid unnecessary delays in the offer stage.
Secure state licensure before your job search
Most U.S. states require radiation therapy licensure before you can practice. Get your state license application in motion early, since processing timelines vary and some employers won't extend an offer until licensure is confirmed or imminent.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time when most employers don't understand TN sponsorship for this role. Migrate Mate filters for Radiation Therapy Technologist positions with TN visa sponsorship so you're applying only where the employer is already prepared to hire.
Prepare a precise employer support letter
Your employer's support letter must describe the role, confirm it meets the specialty occupation standard, and reference your qualifying credentials. A vague or generic letter is the most common reason CBP officers ask additional questions at the Canadian border.
Understand the Mexican TN allocation difference
Mexican nationals applying for TN status go through a consular process, not a CBP port of entry. Plan for a consulate appointment, additional documentation review, and longer lead times than Canadian applicants typically experience.

Find Radiation Therapy Technologist JobsRadiation Therapy Technologist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Radiation Therapy Technologist qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Radiation Therapy Technologists are explicitly listed as a qualifying occupation under the USMCA TN visa category. You must hold a degree or diploma in radiation therapy from an accredited program and have a job offer from a U.S. employer in that specific role. General radiologic technology credentials don't automatically transfer, so your documentation needs to match the occupation exactly.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Radiation Therapy Technologist roles?
TN has a significant practical advantage for this role. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and Canadian applicants can apply directly at a port of entry without filing a petition with USCIS. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a lottery-based process and much longer lead times. For Mexican nationals, TN still avoids the lottery but requires consular processing. Most radiation therapists who qualify for TN choose it over H-1B for its speed and predictability.
Can I search for Radiation Therapy Technologist jobs with TN sponsorship in one place?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Radiation Therapy Technologist positions where employers are already set up to support TN visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on applications where the hiring team is unfamiliar with the process or unwilling to sponsor. It's a faster path than filtering general job boards manually.
Do I need state licensure before a U.S. employer will sponsor my TN visa?
Most employers require confirmed or pending state licensure before extending a formal offer, because you can't legally practice radiation therapy in most states without it. Some will make a conditional offer while licensure is in process, but the TN application itself will typically need to show your credentials and licensure status. Start the licensing application in your target state as early as possible.
How long does TN status last for a Radiation Therapy Technologist, and can it be renewed?
TN status is granted in increments of up to three years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer and continue to meet the occupational requirements. Canadian nationals renew at a port of entry or through USCIS by mail. Mexican nationals renew through a U.S. consulate. There's no cap on the number of renewals, making TN a stable long-term option for radiation therapists working in the U.S.
