Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Security Engineering Manager
Align your credentials to TN categories
Security Engineering Manager roles must qualify under a recognized TN occupation like Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer. Your degree must be in a directly related field, such as computer science, information security, or electrical engineering, not a general business or management discipline.
Target employers with existing TN infrastructure
Prioritize companies in defense contracting, financial services, and cloud infrastructure, where security leadership roles frequently qualify for TN status. Employers with recent visa filings demonstrate experience with work visa sponsorship and won't treat your immigration status as an obstacle during hiring.
Prepare a role-specific support letter before offers
Draft a template employer support letter that maps your Security Engineering Manager duties to the qualifying TN occupation before you receive an offer. Having this ready accelerates the filing timeline and signals to employers that sponsorship is straightforward on your end.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers actively hiring Security Engineering Managers with TN visa sponsorship. The platform filters roles by sponsorship history, so you spend time on companies already set up to file, not educating recruiters from scratch.
Clarify management duties don't disqualify your petition
Some CBP officers scrutinize manager titles because TN is tied to specialty occupation practice, not supervision. Your offer letter and support documentation should emphasize hands-on technical responsibilities in security architecture, threat modeling, or engineering oversight, not just team management.
Confirm employer visa sponsorship experience before accepting an offer
Your employer must prepare a support letter documenting your qualifications and role details for TN visa processing. Ensure your offered wage is competitive for Security Engineering Managers in that geographic area—while there's no government wage requirement for TN visas, accepting significantly below-market pay can raise red flags during port-of-entry inspection or consulate review and may affect your application success.

Find Security Engineering Manager JobsSecurity Engineering Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Engineering Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, but the classification depends on how your duties are framed. TN status requires the role to fall under a recognized USMCA occupation category such as Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer. Your offer letter and employer support documentation must emphasize the technical engineering responsibilities, like security architecture, vulnerability management, or systems design, rather than purely supervisory or administrative functions.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Security Engineering Manager positions?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and can be issued at a port of entry or U.S. consulate with significantly faster processing than H-1B. H-1B requires a full USCIS petition process and subjects applicants to a randomized selection lottery. For Security Engineering Managers who qualify under a USMCA occupation, TN is a faster, more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Where can I find Security Engineering Manager jobs that include TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through generic job boards where sponsorship availability is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces employers who are actively set up to sponsor TN status, including for technical leadership roles like Security Engineering Manager.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN sponsorship for a Security Engineering Manager role?
Yes, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican nationals must apply for TN status at a U.S. consulate abroad and are subject to the annual TN allocation cap, unlike Canadian citizens who can apply directly at a port of entry. Start the consular scheduling process well in advance, as appointment wait times vary significantly by location and season.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship in this role?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter that identifies the USMCA occupation category, describes your specific technical duties as a Security Engineering Manager, confirms the employment terms, and states your Canadian or Mexican citizenship. For roles involving access to sensitive systems, some employers also provide evidence of their security clearance infrastructure to strengthen the petition narrative at the port of entry or consulate.
