Job Summary/Basic Function
The New Student Orientation (NSO) Program Coordinator plays a vital role in welcoming, integrating, and retaining incoming students and their supporters at Weber State University. This position is responsible for managing strategic new student communications, overseeing comprehensive event logistics for orientation programs, and hiring, training, and mentoring a dynamic team of student Orientation Leaders. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with strong marketing acumen and tech-savviness who is dedicated to fostering a supportive campus environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
1 year of related experience
* Experience with Communications, Social Media, or Program Coordination
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
3+ years of professional experience specifically within New Student Orientation, First-Year Experience, Student Life, or related field.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or training undergraduate student leaders.
Proven experience managing event logistics, coordinating with vendors/partners, and executing in-person events.
* Demonstrated experience working with CRM software, communication platforms (e.g., Mainstay, texting software), student information systems (e.g., Banner), Google Suite, and various social media platforms.
