UI Designer Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a ui designer job in Los Angeles?
Focus on the sectors that hire most heavily in Los Angeles: streaming and entertainment technology, gaming studios, ad-tech, and consumer-facing apps. Silicon Beach companies in Santa Monica and Venice, along with Culver City's growing tech hub, are where the highest concentration of openings sits. A portfolio that shows mobile and product design work lands better than print or web-only samples, and familiarity with motion and interactive prototyping gives candidates a real edge in the entertainment-adjacent market here.
Which companies hire ui designers in Los Angeles?
Employers hiring ui designers in Los Angeles right now include Oscar Health, Suno, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles draws a mix of major studios, streaming platforms, gaming companies, and venture-backed startups, making it one of the more varied employer landscapes for ui designers in the country.
Are there remote ui designer jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, and ui design is one of the more remote-friendly roles in the design field since the core work is screen-based and collaborative tools handle handoffs well. About 33% of ui designer openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote roles most common at product-led tech companies and startups headquartered in Silicon Beach.
How can I get a ui designer job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is through junior or associate product design roles at early-stage startups, many of which cluster in Culver City and Santa Monica and prioritize portfolio quality over years of experience. Contract or freelance work with entertainment tech and streaming companies is another common on-ramp locally. Building out a portfolio with two or three end-to-end case studies, ideally showing mobile or app work, matters more than credentials to most Los Angeles hiring managers at this stage.
Which industries hire the most ui designers in Los Angeles?
Most ui designer openings in Los Angeles sit in Technology & Software, Insurance, and Retail, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles's concentration of streaming services, gaming publishers, and entertainment technology companies creates unusually strong and consistent demand for ui designers compared to most other major U.S. cities.
