Tips for Finding H-1B1 Chile Sponsorship Jobs in Alabama
Verify your degree maps to specialty occupation
The H-1B1 Chile requires a degree in a directly related field, not just any bachelor's. Use O*NET to confirm your occupation's typical education requirements before applying to Alabama roles, especially in engineering or healthcare where field specificity matters.
Target Alabama employers already filing LCAs
Employers must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before sponsoring you. Search OFLC Wage Search for Alabama H-1B1 visa LCA filings to identify companies in Huntsville, Birmingham, or Mobile that have gone through this process before and know what it involves.
Find H-1B1 Chile jobs through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and employer LCA filing history, so you're only seeing Alabama roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome. Search by industry or metro area to focus your applications on employers already set up to file.
Confirm your employer knows the H-1B1 distinction
Many Alabama hiring managers group H-1B1 Chile under standard H-1B visa processes. Before accepting an offer, confirm HR understands the H-1B1 has its own USCIS filing pathway and does not enter the April lottery, which changes their timeline expectations.
Prepare for the 18-month initial status period
USCIS grants H-1B1 Chile status in 18-month increments rather than the standard three-year H-1B period. When evaluating Alabama job offers, factor in renewal timing with your employer's HR team so both sides plan for the shorter cycle from day one.

Which industries in Alabama sponsor the most H-1B1 Chile visas?
Healthcare, aerospace and defense engineering, and information technology account for the largest share of H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Alabama. Huntsville's defense and aerospace corridor, Birmingham's hospital and health system sector, and Mobile's manufacturing and engineering employers generate the most consistent LCA filings tied to this visa category.
Which cities in Alabama have the most H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Huntsville leads due to its concentration of federal contractors and aerospace firms linked to Marshall Space Flight Center. Birmingham follows because of its large healthcare network and growing technology employer base. Mobile rounds out the top three, driven by shipbuilding, engineering, and port-related logistics companies with specialty occupation hiring needs.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Alabama?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field are the baseline. In Alabama this typically means software engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, registered nurses with advanced credentials, financial analysts, and healthcare IT specialists. Positions where the degree requirement is stated as preferred rather than required generally do not qualify under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I find H-1B1 Chile jobs in Alabama?
Migrate Mate lets you search Alabama job listings filtered by H-1B1 Chile sponsorship and employer LCA filing history, removing the guesswork about which companies are actually set up to file. You can also cross-reference with OFLC Wage Search to see which Alabama employers have submitted LCAs under the H-1B1 category before contacting them directly.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile jobs in Alabama?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
