Position Highlights
The Laboratory of Myungjin Lee in the Department of Translational Neurosciences is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to research projects focused on omics-driven approaches for investigating neurological and sensorineural disorders. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines for advanced omics data analysis. We are looking for a passionate and dynamic researcher with strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology to advance our research initiatives and enhance computational methodologies.
Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field, along with a strong interest in neuroscience, molecular biology, and omics-based research. A computational background with experience in R and Python is required. This position is part of a well-funded research program, offering the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and establish a track record in grant-funded research. It provides an excellent foundation for career growth in both data science and independent academic research.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research in neuroscience and genetics under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Develop, design, perform, and analyze experiments.
- Formulate research methods, develop research criteria. Performs scientific data collections, reductions, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by use of independent judgment.
- Maintains and creates bioinformatic analyses pipelines, including implementing AI tools, to analyse omics data on a high-computing cluster.
- Participates in data interpretation such as data quality control, variant interpretation and classification.
- Utilize good coding practices including versioning (eg. Github) and writing detailed documentation to document all data analyses pipelines.
- Assist with funding applications by generating preliminary data.
- Derive, analyze, and format data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
- Present research findings to the lab at department meetings, and at national and international symposiums.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Foster collaborations within the Department and with other units across the University.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent analytical skills and commitment to scientific excellence and innovation.
- Knowledge of coordinating experiments, and completing statistics analysis and interpretation.
- Ability to conduct research independently and within a team.
- Ability to communicate professionally in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of grant writing and manuscript preparation.
- Ability to participate at scientific conferences and present findings.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.

- Experience in analyzing next generation sequencing data, such as genetics, transcriptomics, and epigenetic data.
- Comfortable with job submission on a high-computing cluster.
