Which companies in California sponsor visas for android engineers?
Large tech companies based in California are among the most active H-1B sponsors for android engineers. Google, Meta, Apple, Snap, Lyft, and Salesforce have consistent histories of sponsoring software engineering roles, including android-specific positions. Mid-size and growth-stage companies in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also sponsor regularly, though the volume and consistency of sponsorship varies significantly by employer size and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for android engineers in California?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for android engineers in California, as software engineering roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category. L-1 transfers are also used when candidates are relocating from a foreign office of the same employer.
Which cities in California have the most android engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Mountain View, Menlo Park, and San Francisco itself, concentrates the largest share of android engineer sponsorship roles in California. Los Angeles has a growing tech sector with meaningful sponsorship activity, particularly among entertainment technology and consumer app companies. San Diego also has a notable presence, driven by mobile-focused startups and established technology firms with engineering teams there.
How to find android engineer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter by role and state to see android engineer positions in California where employers have indicated sponsorship availability. Because the platform is focused exclusively on sponsorship-friendly roles, it removes much of the uncertainty around whether a given employer is open to sponsoring international candidates for android engineering positions.
Are there any California-specific considerations for android engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
California employers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when sponsoring H-1B workers, and the state's high cost of living means the applicable wage levels for android engineers are among the highest in the country. California is also home to several major university pipelines, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford, which produce a large share of OPT candidates transitioning into sponsored roles. Competition for android engineering positions at top-tier California employers is high, and many roles attract significant applicant volume.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored android engineer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
