At Amplitude, we're building the operating system for digital products. While we're known as the leader in product analytics, our Statsig team is redefining how companies learn, iterate, and ship better experiences.
Statsig is one of the fastest-growing and most strategic bets at Amplitude. It sits at the intersection of product, data, and decision-making, and we're looking for a Product Engineer to help take it to the next level.
Why this role matters
This isn't a "take tickets and ship code" role. You'll operate as an owner, shaping both the product and the technical direction of a system used by some of the most sophisticated product teams in the world.
You'll work across the stack, NextJS and Node.js, to build intuitive, high-performance experiences that make experimentation accessible, powerful, and trustworthy.
- Own critical product surfaces end-to-end from ideation to production and beyond
- Drive product direction in partnership with design and product leaders
- Build and evolve systems across React and Node.js that scale with customer growth
- Leverage modern AI tooling to dramatically accelerate development, prototyping, and iteration cycles
- Raise the bar for engineering quality - code, architecture, and user experience
- Lead by example - through hands-on development, technical mentorship, and thoughtful decision-making
- Move fast on ambiguous problems, turning ideas into shipped, customer-facing value
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Education: B.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field
- Proven experience operating at a senior-level scope. You've led large, ambiguous initiatives with significant business impact
- Strong full-stack expertise (React + backend systems such as Node.js and/or Python)
- A deep sense of ownership - you don't wait for direction; you create it
- Exceptional product taste - you care deeply about UX, details, and building things people love
- An AI-native mindset - you actively use and experiment with the latest AI tools to amplify your impact and rethink how software gets built
- Ability to balance speed and quality in a high-velocity environment
- Strong judgment in technical trade-offs and system design
What sets you apart
- You think like a product builder first, engineer second
- You're constantly reinventing how you work, using cutting-edge tools and workflows to achieve outsized results
- You're energized by open-ended problems with no clear "right" answer
- You hold a high bar, not just for your own work, but for the team and product as a whole
- You turn ambiguity into clarity and momentum
Why Amplitude
- Work on a product used by thousands of companies to make better decisions
- Be part of a team that's expanding beyond analytics into a full digital optimization platform
- Join a culture that values ownership, velocity, and craft
- Have outsized impact on a top company priority
This role is eligible for equity, benefits and other forms of compensation.

Which companies sponsor visas for senior full stack engineers in California?
Large tech employers including Google, Meta, Apple, Salesforce, Adobe, and Stripe have consistent track records of sponsoring H-1B visas for senior full stack engineers in California. Mid-size and growth-stage companies in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also sponsor regularly, particularly those backed by venture capital and competing for specialized engineering talent with experience across both front-end and back-end systems.
Which visa types are most common for senior full stack engineer roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for senior full stack engineers in California, as these roles typically meet the specialty occupation requirement through their degree and technical complexity. Engineers with exceptional track records in open source, publications, or industry recognition may qualify for the O-1A. Canadians and Mexicans may also be eligible for the TN visa under the engineer category, which bypasses the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in California have the most senior full stack engineer sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale, accounts for the largest share of senior full stack engineer sponsorship activity in California. Los Angeles is a growing hub, particularly in fintech, media tech, and e-commerce. San Diego has a smaller but active market driven by biotech software, defense contractors, and a cluster of mid-size SaaS companies near the UC San Diego corridor.
How to find senior full stack engineer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a history of visa sponsorship, making it practical to search for senior full stack engineer positions in California without sifting through postings that don't support work authorization. You can filter by state and role to surface relevant openings. Because sponsorship willingness isn't always stated in job ads, using a platform built around verified sponsorship patterns saves significant time.
Are there any California-specific considerations for senior full stack engineers seeking sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are set at the regional level, and the San Francisco Bay Area consistently falls into the highest wage tiers due to local labor market data. This means employers sponsoring senior full stack engineers in the Bay Area are required to meet elevated minimum wage thresholds compared to other states. California also has strong worker protection laws that can affect how employment terms are structured in sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior full stack engineer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
