WHAT IS THIS ROLE LIKE?
We're looking for a highly organized, systems-minded, and execution-driven Product Operations Manager to join Topsort's growing Product team in our Boston office. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Commercial teams — helping ensure our product organization operates efficiently as we scale globally.
You'll help bridge the gap between product strategy and day-to-day execution. From improving product workflows and release processes to creating operational visibility across teams, you'll play a critical role in helping Topsort ship faster, communicate better, and scale smarter.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments, enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, and loves solving operational challenges behind the scenes that make product teams more effective.
YOU WILL:
- Drive operational excellence across the Product organization by improving workflows, processes, and cross-functional coordination
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to keep initiatives aligned and moving forward
- Help manage product planning cadences, roadmap tracking, sprint visibility, and launch coordination
- Build and maintain systems, dashboards, documentation, and reporting that improve visibility into product execution and team performance
- Identify bottlenecks, operational gaps, and communication breakdowns, then proactively solve them
- Coordinate product launches internally to ensure teams are aligned on timelines, updates, dependencies, and releases
- Support product analytics and operational reporting to help leadership make data-informed decisions
- Improve internal product documentation, onboarding materials, processes, and knowledge-sharing practices
- Manage and optimize product tools and systems such as Jira, Notion, Linear, Productboard, or similar platforms
- Partner with Customer Success, Sales, and Engineering teams to help close feedback loops between customers and Product
- Help create scalable operational foundations as Topsort continues growing across regions and product lines
WHAT (WE THINK) YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 1+ years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Business Operations, Product Management, Consulting, or similar operational roles in fast-paced tech environments
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple moving priorities at once
- Exceptional communication skills — you know how to bring clarity across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Leadership teams
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and improve systems proactively
- Analytical thinking and comfort working with product metrics, operational data, and reporting
- Experience working with tools such as Jira, Notion, Confluence, Airtable, Productboard, or similar
- High ownership mentality — you're someone who naturally steps in, figures things out, and drives execution forward
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where processes may not yet fully exist
- Startup mentality: adaptable, resourceful, fast-moving, and excited to help scale a company in high-growth mode
- Bonus if you've worked in SaaS, AdTech, Retail Media, marketplaces, or technical B2B product environments
WHAT WE VALUE
At Topsort, we seek professionals who embody the following qualities to drive our mission forward:
- Deep dive into details: Professionals who are not content with superficial answers and dive deeply into the details to uncover root causes and optimal solutions.
- Team first: A low need for individual recognition, always prioritizing collective results over personal credit.
- You thrive with ambiguity: Exceptional ability to tackle open-ended problems in unstructured environments, turning chaos into structured innovation.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn, mentor, lead, and follow as the situation demands, fostering growth at all levels.
- Urgency: A disproportionate sense of urgency in execution, while keeping scalability and the creation of replicable processes in mind to ensure long-term success.

Which companies sponsor visas for product operations managers in Massachusetts?
Boston-area tech and biotech companies are among the most active sponsors for product operations manager roles. HubSpot, Wayfair, Rapid7, Toast, and Klaviyo have consistent hiring patterns in this function. Large financial services and life sciences employers in the region, including Fidelity Investments and Biogen, also sponsor international candidates, particularly for senior product operations positions tied to platform scaling or clinical product workflows.
Which visa types are most common for product operations manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for product operations managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with prior U.S. employment may already hold H-1B status with a different employer and pursue a transfer. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated industry recognition, though it requires substantial supporting documentation.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most product operations manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of product operations manager openings in Massachusetts, driven by dense concentrations of SaaS, fintech, and life sciences companies. Waltham and Burlington form a secondary hub along Route 128, hosting enterprise technology firms that regularly staff product operations functions. Somerville and the Seaport District in Boston have seen growing demand as product-led startups expand operations teams.
How to find product operations manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find product operations manager roles in Massachusetts where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can browse Massachusetts-specific results for this role category and identify companies with a verified sponsorship history, saving significant time during a job search.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product operations managers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers must meet the H-1B prevailing wage requirement set by the Department of Labor for the Boston metropolitan area, which reflects the region's competitive compensation norms for product operations roles. The state's strong university pipeline, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, means employers are accustomed to sponsoring international talent. Massachusetts does not impose additional state-level immigration filing requirements beyond federal obligations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product operations manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
