Small Business Banker

What you'll do:
As a Small Business Banker you'll build on existing and establish new strong advisory relationships with small business clients, typically those with annual revenues less than $10MM, and work to uncover, understand and solve the clients known and unknown needs. You'll meet service and sales goals by driving deposit growth within your portfolio, recommending additional treasury management solutions when appropriate, and executing tasks accurately and within service level standards. You'll be based in a branch office and will primarily support an existing portfolio of clients, connecting primarily via telephone or email and occasionally through in-person visits while working to develop new business.
- Be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of small business clients within a defined geographic coverage area. Routinely contact, primarily via telephone, existing, prospective or newly assigned clients, and develop relationships and new business opportunities.
- Assess customers financial needs and recommend the most appropriate products and/or service to assist in developing new business opportunities and expand on existing customer base. Support the growth of a designated branch market area and provide leadership by actively supporting assigned branches.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of Western Alliance Bank deposit, lending and treasury management products and services. Collaborate with other departments across the organization to execute the sales, relationship building, and credit strategies to achieve optimal results.
- Stay abreast of changing business trends that impact small business clients and translate those trends into business opportunities. Assist in mitigating risk, verifying audit compliance, and procedural quality control through a branch operations review. Ensure compliance with established Bank policies, procedures and state and federal regulations.
What you'll need:
- 5+ years of related experience in Branch Banking Operations, Lending and/or Deposit Sales, Customer Service or similar field.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Intermediate project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to create momentum, foster organizational change, and work with other members of senior management.
- Experience advising business owners on complex credit / lending solutions.
- Ability to interpret client financial statements and recommend specific solutions to achieve goals.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- Occasional travel required.
Compensation:
Salary range for new hires is generally $80,390.00 - $99,300.00 for Reno, NV. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
