This position is for technician support to the Mechanical Design Engineering (MDE) group’s Mechanical Team. This team is seeking a motivated mechanical technician to support LANSCE accelerator maintenance and upgrade operations. Successful candidates will also support these maintenance and upgrade operations in the field as needed.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the MDE Mechanical Team include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment, electro-mechanical equipment, and operation of general shop tools and equipment
- Supporting custom fabrications and providing engineering solutions to complex problems
- Multi-tasking to complete work for a variety of projects
- Ordering spare parts
- Maintaining an on-line spares inventory and a maintenance database
- Laser tracker alignment experience desired
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or 3 years experience in relevant field
