Which companies sponsor visas for AI architects in New York?
New York's largest H-1B sponsors for AI and machine learning roles include JPMorgan Chase, IBM, Google, Meta, Amazon, and Accenture, all of which maintain significant engineering offices in Manhattan. Financial services firms like Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have also increased AI architecture hiring and have documented sponsorship histories available through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for AI architect roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI architects in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. The O-1A is an alternative for candidates with exceptional recognition, such as published research, patents, or industry awards. L-1A and L-1B visas apply when transferring within a multinational employer.
Which cities in New York have the most AI architect sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the majority of AI architect sponsorship activity, particularly in Midtown and Lower Manhattan where financial institutions and enterprise tech companies are headquartered. Brooklyn's tech corridor and Long Island City in Queens have grown as secondary hubs, especially for startups and mid-size AI firms. Albany sees some demand from state government and healthcare technology employers, but it remains a smaller market compared to New York City.
How to find ai architect visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify New York employers actively hiring AI architects who will support an H-1B or other work visa. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can search within the AI architect category scoped to New York to surface roles where sponsorship is part of the offer. This saves significant time during a job search where visa eligibility is a hard requirement.
What should AI architects know about New York's sponsorship market and prevailing wages?
New York City consistently falls into the highest Department of Labor wage tier for AI and machine learning roles, which means sponsoring employers must meet elevated prevailing wage requirements when filing a Labor Condition Application. This can make smaller startups more cautious about sponsoring, while large financial institutions and established tech employers are generally more experienced with the process. Candidates with specialized skills in generative AI, MLOps, or large language model infrastructure tend to attract the most sponsorship-willing employers in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai architect jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
