Which companies sponsor visas for AI product engineers in New York?
Large technology employers with significant New York offices, including Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, and Salesforce, have established sponsorship programs for AI product engineers. Beyond big tech, New York's fintech sector, with companies like Bloomberg and Two Sigma, and a growing cohort of AI-native startups in Manhattan and Brooklyn regularly file H-1B petitions for engineers working on machine learning infrastructure, model deployment, and AI product development.
Which visa types are most common for AI product engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for AI product engineers in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, satisfying specialty occupation requirements. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa. Those with extraordinary ability or significant research contributions may explore the O-1A. F-1 graduates often bridge through OPT or STEM OPT while securing H-1B sponsorship.
How to find ai product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters AI product engineer roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability and state, making it straightforward to identify New York employers actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sifting through general job postings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship opportunities, which is particularly useful given how competitive and time-sensitive the New York AI hiring market can be for international candidates.
Which cities in New York have the most AI product engineer sponsorship jobs?
New York City, and Manhattan in particular, accounts for the overwhelming majority of AI product engineer sponsorship opportunities in the state. The Midtown and Flatiron districts host dense concentrations of tech and enterprise software employers, while Brooklyn's growing tech corridor adds to the volume. Albany and Buffalo have smaller but present opportunities, primarily through healthcare systems, universities, and state government technology initiatives.
Are there any state-specific considerations for AI product engineers seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored roles are benchmarked against one of the highest cost-of-living markets in the country, which means employers must offer wages meeting Department of Labor standards for the New York City metropolitan area. Columbia University, NYU, and Cornell Tech produce a consistent pipeline of AI talent, meaning competition among international candidates is high. Employers in regulated industries like finance and healthcare may have additional compliance considerations that can affect sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai product engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
