Which companies sponsor visas for analytics consultants in New York?
The most active sponsors in New York include the Big Four consulting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG), management consultancies like McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group, and major tech firms including IBM and Accenture. Financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup also sponsor analytics consultants, particularly for data strategy and business intelligence roles aligned with their New York headquarters.
Which visa types are most common for analytics consultant roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for analytics consultants in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, computer science, or business analytics. Candidates with advanced degrees may benefit from the master's cap exemption in the H-1B lottery. The O-1A is an option for those with demonstrated exceptional recognition in the analytics field.
Which cities in New York have the most analytics consultant sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of analytics consultant sponsorship jobs in the state, particularly in Manhattan's Midtown and Lower Manhattan corridors where consulting firms and financial services companies are headquartered. Buffalo and Albany have a smaller but growing presence, driven by healthcare systems and state government-adjacent consulting work, though sponsor activity there is significantly lower than in New York City.
How to find analytics consultant visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter analytics consultant roles by location, including New York. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in generic job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with a documented history of sponsoring work visas, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely. Filtering by New York shows you active openings from consulting firms, financial institutions, and tech companies in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for analytics consultants seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing Labor Condition Applications for analytics consultants must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific role and geographic area, which in New York City reflects one of the highest prevailing wage benchmarks in the country. New York's concentration of top graduate programs, including Columbia and NYU Stern, also creates a pipeline of OPT-eligible candidates that many consulting firms actively recruit, making it a competitive but sponsorship-active market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored analytics consultant jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
