Which companies sponsor visas for iOS engineers in New York?
Large technology and financial firms are the most consistent sponsors for iOS engineers in New York. Companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, Meta, and JPMorgan Chase have established H-1B sponsorship programs. New York-based startups and scale-ups in fintech, media, and e-commerce also sponsor regularly, though sponsorship practices vary by company size, hiring cycle, and internal immigration policy.
Which visa types are most common for iOS engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for iOS engineers in New York, as software engineering typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Candidates with an existing O-1A or L-1B may also find opportunities. Australians holding an E-3 visa have an additional option that bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
How to find ios engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters iOS engineer jobs specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can search New York roles without manually screening each posting. The platform pulls from employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history, which is particularly useful in a competitive market like New York where many postings don't explicitly state sponsorship availability upfront.
Which cities in New York have the most iOS engineer sponsorship jobs?
New York City, specifically Manhattan, accounts for the overwhelming majority of iOS engineer sponsorship opportunities in the state. Midtown and the Flatiron District host a high concentration of tech offices and startup headquarters. Brooklyn's tech scene in DUMBO has grown steadily. Outside the city, opportunities thin out considerably, though Buffalo and Rochester have smaller but active technology employment bases.
Are there any state-specific considerations for iOS engineers pursuing visa sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the New York City metropolitan area, which reflect the region's high cost of living. The state's concentration of large financial institutions and global tech companies means many New York employers already have experienced in-house immigration counsel and established sponsorship workflows, which can streamline the process for candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ios engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
