Which consulting companies sponsor Green Card visas in Puerto Rico?
The Big Four accounting and advisory firms, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and Ernst & Young, have established presences in San Juan and have a documented history of sponsoring permanent residency for consulting professionals. Mid-size federal contractors and healthcare consulting firms operating on the island also pursue Green Card sponsorship for specialized roles in IT systems, compliance, and management advisory services.
Which cities in Puerto Rico have the most consulting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
San Juan and its metro area, including Guaynabo and Bayamón, account for the overwhelming majority of consulting Green Card sponsorship activity in Puerto Rico. Most large professional services firms and federal agency contractors are headquartered in this corridor. Consulting roles with sponsorship potential in other municipalities are comparatively rare and typically tied to specific infrastructure or healthcare projects.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Puerto Rico?
Roles that routinely qualify include management consultants, IT and systems integration consultants, financial advisory professionals, healthcare operations consultants, and regulatory compliance specialists. USCIS classifies these as specialty occupations when they require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Puerto Rico's consulting market leans heavily toward federal government clients and healthcare systems, so roles aligned with those sectors see stronger sponsorship activity.
How do I find consulting Green Card sponsorship jobs in Puerto Rico?
Migrate Mate filters consulting jobs in Puerto Rico by verified Green Card sponsorship history, drawing on DOL PERM labor certification filings to surface employers who have actually sponsored permanent residency, not just those who list it as a possibility. You can narrow results by consulting sub-specialty and location within Puerto Rico, making it faster to identify firms in San Juan with a real track record of sponsoring management, IT, or compliance consulting roles.
Are there any Puerto Rico-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in consulting?
Puerto Rico operates under U.S. federal immigration law, so Green Card processes follow the same PERM labor certification and I-140 petition pathways as the mainland. One practical consideration is that Puerto Rico's consulting market is smaller and more concentrated than major mainland metros, meaning fewer total sponsoring employers. Professionals should also be aware that certain tax incentives under Puerto Rico's Acts 20 and 22 have shaped which consulting firms maintain long-term island operations, which can affect sponsorship stability.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card consulting jobs in Puerto Rico?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
