Which companies sponsor visas for software consultants in Utah?
Utah-based technology employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship history include Adobe, Qualtrics, Domo, and several enterprise software and consulting firms concentrated in Salt Lake City and Lehi. National consulting firms with Utah offices, such as Deloitte and Accenture, also sponsor software consultants. Sponsorship activity tends to follow larger employers with established immigration support infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for software consultant roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software consultants in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1B visas apply when a consultant transfers intracompany. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying consulting categories under USMCA.
Which cities in Utah have the most software consultant sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and Lehi account for the majority of software consultant sponsorship activity in Utah. Lehi, sometimes called Silicon Slopes, hosts a high concentration of technology companies and consulting offices. Provo and Ogden also have emerging tech employment, but Salt Lake City remains the primary hub for enterprise consulting roles with visa sponsorship.
How to find software consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to identify software consultant openings in Utah where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search directly for Utah-based software consultant roles and review sponsorship details alongside job requirements in one place.
Are there state-specific considerations for software consultant visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's Silicon Slopes corridor has drawn significant venture-backed and enterprise technology investment, creating consistent demand for software consulting talent. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University produce large computer science graduating cohorts, so employers are familiar with international student hiring pathways including OPT and STEM OPT extensions. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for software consultants in the Salt Lake City metro apply to all H-1B filings in the region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software consultant jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
