Tips for Finding E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in Vermont
Match your degree to Vermont's specialty occupations
Vermont employers filing LCAs need roles that require a specific bachelor's degree field. Use O*NET to confirm your occupation's typical education requirement before applying, so your credentials map cleanly to the specialty occupation standard.
Target Burlington's research and clinical employers
University of Vermont Medical Center and UVM's research departments generate consistent E-3 LCA filings. Focus your search on Burlington-area postings in clinical, engineering, and research roles where specialty occupation status is well established.
Verify the prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Run your job title and Vermont ZIP code through the OFLC Wage Search before any offer conversation. Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the prevailing level, so knowing the threshold protects you during negotiation.
Use Migrate Mate to identify verified E-3 sponsors
Search Migrate Mate's job board to find Vermont employers with documented LCA filing history for E-3 roles. That filing record tells you which organizations have already navigated the DOL certification process, reducing your risk of pursuing employers unfamiliar with E-3 requirements.
Get your LCA certified before scheduling your consular appointment
DOL must certify your employer's LCA before you can present it at a U.S. consulate in Australia. Build at least two weeks of buffer between LCA submission and your intended appointment date to account for standard DOL processing windows.

Which industries in Vermont sponsor the most E-3 visas?
Healthcare and higher education generate the largest share of E-3 LCA filings in Vermont. University of Vermont and its affiliated medical center account for significant activity, alongside technology and engineering firms clustered in the Burlington metro. Research roles in life sciences and software development also appear consistently in Vermont LCA disclosure data.
Which cities in Vermont have the most E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Burlington is by far the most active city for E-3 sponsorship in Vermont, driven by its concentration of hospitals, university departments, and technology employers. South Burlington and Williston, both within the Chittenden County metro, also have employer density in engineering and healthcare. Montpelier sees occasional state-government-adjacent filings in policy and research roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Vermont?
Roles that qualify require a specific bachelor's degree as a minimum entry requirement for the position. In Vermont, this typically means clinical and research positions in healthcare, software engineering and IT roles, civil and environmental engineering tied to infrastructure or environmental work, and faculty or research staff positions at higher education institutions. Generalist or supervisory roles without a defined degree field rarely qualify.
How do I find E-3 jobs in Vermont that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and shows employer LCA filing history, so you can identify Vermont companies that have already sponsored E-3 workers rather than cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the process. Cross-reference any employer you find against DOL LCA disclosure data to confirm their filing activity before investing time in an application.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 jobs in Vermont?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
