We are seeking a results-driven Truck Broker / Freight Broker – Sales Representative to join our growing team. This role focuses on developing new business, managing freight shipments (FTL/LTL), and building strong relationships with shippers and carriers.
The ideal candidate has experience in truck brokerage, strong industry connections, and a proven ability to close deals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospecting & Sales:
- Generate new business through cold calling, networking, and outreach
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of shippers and clients
- Identify opportunities in both FTL and LTL freight
Carrier & Vendor Management:
- Source, onboard, and manage reliable trucking carriers
- Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and clients
- Monitor shipments and proactively resolve issues (delays, billing, etc.)
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and carriers
- Maintain daily communication and provide real-time updates
- Build long-term relationships with decision-makers
Operations & Execution:
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Prepare and manage documentation (BOLs, rate confirmations, etc.)
- Ensure high service levels and on-time delivery
Market Awareness:
- Stay updated on freight market trends, pricing, and capacity
- Use tools like DAT and Truckstop to maximize margins
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in truck brokerage / freight brokerage
- Strong sales and negotiation skills (closer mindset)
- Existing book of business is a plus
- Familiarity with load boards like DAT and Truckstop
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Base salary + uncapped commission
