INTRODUCTION
Provide professional investment and life insurance advice including comprehensive financial planning to the wealth management, commercial and small business markets; developing new business relationships in those markets; and enhancing the Central Pacific's employees' overall knowledge of these products in accordance with the bank's strategic business plans. Provides logistical, analytical, and clerical sales support to the Wealth Advisors, if the position is with a Wealth Advisor Team. Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Accountabilities:
Job Specific Duties (Wealth Advisor)
- Provide professional investment and life insurance advice to the retail and small business market.
- Prospect retail and small business markets for new customer.
- Financial Results and Efficiencies
- Production: Achieve budgeted amount of fee income based upon territory size, number of years of experience, and industry averages.
- Help business partners achieve their Investment Service fee income goals.
- Budget Goals: Help maintain expenses within approved budgets and support WA’s towards fee income goals.
- Efficiency: Complete required and requested reports on time and accurately.
Job Specific Duties (Sales Assistant)
- Wealth Advisor Support: Responsible for opening new accounts, performing account transfers, assisting Wealth Advisor with office files, following up on account numbers, incoming transfers, missing items, verifying monetary transactions, placing orders, and other items that increase production.
- Customer Support: Responsible for assisting customers with servicing issues, such as account maintenance, check orders, record changes, researching customer inquiries, etc.
Team Focused Leadership
- Participate in Bank sponsored Internal/external events.
- Participate in Bank sponsored focus groups, initiatives, campaigns.
Relationship Banking/Relationship
- Provide analytical, logistical, and clerical support for sales and special projects, including sales campaigns, investment seminars, trade shows and other activities to promote sales opportunities, with efficiency and cost-effectiveness for Investment Services and business partners.
- Demonstrate core values teamwork, integrity, exceptional services by recognizing and being recognized by internal/external clients.
- Maintain internal service standards.
- Actively seek opportunities to help prospects and customers and strengthen relationships through introductions and referrals to Wealth Management, Commercial & Consumer Divisions.
Risk Management/Compliance
- Responsible for following internal procedures to achieve satisfactory internal, LPL, FDIC audits.
- Comply in a timely manner with all compliance requests.
- Adhere to Bank policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments.
Personal/Professional Development
- Attend required and elective training and workshops.
- Participate in professional group/organization.
- Obtain industry designations to broaden product/service skillset for financial planning, insurance and fee-based platforms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university, preferably in a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in Retail financial sales and servicing required.
License/Certification:
- Series 7 license required.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
- Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
- Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
- Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
