Accounting Intern Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting intern in Nevada?
To become an accounting intern in Nevada, you need to be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or associate degree program in accounting or a closely related field. Nevada does not require a state license for intern-level work, but most employers expect you to be on a path toward CPA eligibility, which is overseen by the Nevada State Board of Accountancy. Completing foundational coursework in financial accounting, auditing, and taxation before applying gives you a strong competitive edge.
Which companies hire accounting interns in Nevada?
Companies currently hiring accounting interns in Nevada include IGT, MGM Resorts International, and CVS Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's concentration of large hospitality corporations and regional public accounting firms means intern demand is especially strong among gaming companies and the CPA firms that audit and advise them.
Which Nevada cities have the most accounting intern jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson have the most accounting intern openings in Nevada. Las Vegas dominates because of its dense concentration of gaming corporations, hotel management companies, and the regional offices of national public accounting firms, while Reno and Henderson add volume through their growing technology sector employers and corporate headquarters that have relocated from higher-cost states.
Are there remote accounting intern jobs in Nevada?
Yes, and more than some fields, since accounting work is largely analytical and document-based. About 31% of accounting intern openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting genuine flexibility at many corporate and public accounting employers. Tasks like data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting are most commonly done remotely, while client-facing work or physical audit support typically requires on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a accounting intern in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured internship programs at Nevada's large gaming and hospitality corporations, which regularly hire first- and second-year accounting students with no prior work experience. MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and regional CPA firms in Las Vegas and Reno run recurring seasonal and summer programs designed for candidates still completing coursework. Volunteering to assist with bookkeeping for a campus organization, pursuing a QuickBooks certification, or taking on a part-time accounts-payable role at a small Nevada business are concrete ways to build a resume before your first formal internship.
Where can I find and apply to accounting intern jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to accounting intern jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Las Vegas, Reno, Henderson, and other Nevada locations. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience level and availability, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
