AI Consultant Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai consultant in Oklahoma?
AI consulting in Oklahoma has no state-issued license requirement, so the path runs through education and credentials. Most Oklahoma employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or engineering, with many preferring a master's. Vendor certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud carry significant weight in the Oklahoma market. Building a portfolio of completed AI projects and gaining experience in energy or financial services industries gives candidates a concrete edge with Oklahoma's largest employers.
How much do AI consultants make in Oklahoma?
AI consultants in Oklahoma earn a median of about $86,310 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,690 for the lowest 10% to over $145,580 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai consultants in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma ai consultant roles are posted by CVS Health, Halliburton, and Waterfield Technologies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector anchors much of this demand, with large corporations investing in AI-driven operations, exploration analytics, and supply chain optimization.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most ai consultant jobs?
Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City account for the largest share of ai consultant openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City leads because it is home to the state's largest energy companies, financial institutions, and government contractors, while Tulsa's industrial and aerospace base generates consistent demand for AI and automation consulting work.
Are there remote ai consultant jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of ai consultant openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that the core work of model development, data analysis, and strategic advising translates well to distributed teams. The portions of the role most commonly done remotely are data pipeline work, model training, and client reporting, while on-site presence is more often required for stakeholder workshops and implementation kickoffs.
How can I get hired as a ai consultant in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a data analyst or junior data scientist role at one of Oklahoma City's or Tulsa's large energy or insurance companies, then transitioning into AI project work as those teams expand. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma both have applied AI and data science programs that connect graduates to regional employers. Building a public project portfolio, earning an entry-level cloud certification from AWS or Microsoft, and targeting associate consultant or AI support analyst postings at established Oklahoma firms gives candidates without direct experience a credible foot in the door.
Where can I find and apply to ai consultant jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to ai consultant jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oklahoma openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
