AI Data Specialist Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions

Most ai data specialists in Oklahoma enter the field with a bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or information systems. Oklahoma does not require a state-issued license for this role. Practical credentials that strengthen hiring prospects include vendor certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as completion of a portfolio-based data program through institutions such as the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, or Tulsa Community College's tech pathways.
How much do AI data specialists make in Oklahoma?
AI data specialists in Oklahoma earn a median of about $86,310 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,690 for the lowest 10% to over $145,580 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai data specialists in Oklahoma?
Employers hiring ai data specialists in Oklahoma right now include CVS Health, Halliburton, and Waterfield Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector, major health systems, and aerospace maintenance operations have been particularly active in building out AI and data annotation teams in recent years.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most ai data specialist jobs?
Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City account for the largest share of ai data specialist openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City drives volume through its concentration of corporate headquarters in energy, insurance, and healthcare, while Tulsa's aerospace and manufacturing base has expanded its data operations, and Norman benefits from its proximity to University of Oklahoma research and technology programs that feed local employer pipelines.
Are there remote ai data specialist jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of ai data specialist openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly data and annotation work translates to distributed teams. Roles focused on model evaluation, data labeling, and pipeline quality assurance tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions requiring direct coordination with on-site engineering or operations teams are more likely to expect in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a ai data specialist in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a data analyst or data quality associate role at a large Oklahoma employer and building toward AI-specific responsibilities from there. INTEGRIS Health, Devon Energy, and state agencies under the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services regularly bring on junior data staff. A structured portfolio demonstrating annotation projects, cleaned public datasets, or a basic predictive model carries more weight than years of experience at the entry level, and completing a certificate through Oklahoma State University's online data analytics program or OU's continuing education track gives candidates a concrete credential to reference in applications.
Where can I find and apply to ai data specialist jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to ai data specialist jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, experience level, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
