AI Specialist Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai specialist in Oklahoma?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an ai specialist in Oklahoma. Most employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or engineering, with a master's degree preferred for senior roles. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma both offer graduate programs in data science and AI. Industry certifications from AWS, Google Cloud, or professional bodies like INFORMS strengthen a candidate's profile and are commonly referenced in Oklahoma job listings.
Which companies hire ai specialists in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma ai specialist roles are posted by CVS Health, Halliburton, and Waterfield Technologies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector, particularly companies operating out of Oklahoma City, has been an especially active source of AI hiring as firms invest in predictive maintenance and reservoir modeling tools.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most ai specialist jobs?
Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City have the most ai specialist openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City drives the largest share through its concentration of energy companies, state government technology offices, and healthcare systems, while Tulsa's aerospace and manufacturing base and its growing tech district generate consistent demand for AI talent in industrial and operations analytics roles.
Are there remote ai specialist jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of ai specialist openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and software-intensive nature of the work. The roles most likely to be fully remote are those focused on model development, data pipeline engineering, and AI research, while positions requiring integration with physical systems or on-site stakeholder collaboration tend to be hybrid.
How can I get hired as a ai specialist in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a role as a data analyst or junior machine learning engineer, then building toward an ai specialist title. Large Oklahoma employers like Devon Energy and OU Health run internship and new-graduate programs that place candidates in applied analytics teams. Building a public portfolio of projects on GitHub, completing a structured AI certificate program through OSU or OU, and targeting roles with titles like AI associate, data science analyst, or ML engineer trainee are the most direct routes into the field without a prior AI-specific title.
Where can I find and apply to ai specialist jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to ai specialist jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oklahoma openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No signup is required to see the listings.
