The Humanities & Social Sciences Department at Onondaga Community College is currently inviting applications from qualified applicants to teach American Sign Language I (ASL 101) and American Sign Language II (ASL 102).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants should demonstrate fluent and accurate command of American Sign Language as well as knowledge of culture and language pedagogy.
- Master's degree in ASL or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 credits in ASL. For native speakers: Bachelor's degree in ASL or a related field with 18 credits in ASL. (Mentoring will also be required for those not having the Master's degree.)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Preference will be given to those with experience teaching at a community college.
Additional Information:
Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $1,527/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.
Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
