DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a software engineer who wants to build the test automation, tooling, and infrastructure that helps the team validate hardware and software faster without compromising quality. You'll own CI/CD pipelines for embedded image builds, factory test station software, simulation frameworks, and cloud-based test infrastructure. Your work directly impacts how fast the team can iterate and how reliably we ship software to orbit. Some days you'll be building Python automation that orchestrates a factory calibration station. Other days you'll be wiring up end-to-end test pipelines that validate firmware images before they're signed and deployed. You don't need embedded or satellite experience to start. You need to be a strong engineer who builds reliable systems, automates everything they can, and enjoys making other engineers more productive.
We're a small, growing team inside Amazon's LEO program. We own the software layer for the satellite antenna payload, the actors, services, and infrastructure that make beam-forming, calibration, and hardware control actually work. You'll work alongside embedded software engineers, SDEs, RF engineers, and hardware teams, and you'll have real ownership from day one. The team is early enough that your decisions will shape how we build and test for years. If you want high-impact work on one of Amazon's most ambitious technical programs, come join us
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Do you want to put code in space? Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the core wireless and networking for an advanced global telecom service spanning both space and terrestrial networks? Have you wondered what it takes to solve a multi-dimentional resource allocation problem at global scale?
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded image builds, signing, and deployment
- Develop factory test station software (calibration, BIST, power-on)
- Create simulation and automated test frameworks for hardware validation
- Build cloud-based infrastructure for test orchestration and result analysis
- Improve developer workflows — build times, test feedback loops, release processes
About the team
At Amazon Leo, we believe that our differences makes us stronger. We are committed to Amazon’s culture of inclusion ingrained in our Leadership Principles, which encourages team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust. We want to foster a culture of collaboration, delivering results and work/life balance.

Mid Level Antenna Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level antenna engineer job?
Position yourself around ownership, not just execution. Highlight projects where you drove the antenna design from requirements through testing, made tradeoffs independently, and delivered measurable results. Emphasize depth in simulation tools, characterization methods, or a specific frequency domain. Applications that show you can work with limited oversight and cross-functional teams stand out at this level.
Which companies hire mid level antenna engineers?
Companies hiring mid level antenna engineers right now include Viasat, Raytheon, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers defense contractors, wireless hardware companies, and commercial electronics manufacturers that need engineers who can run programs with limited supervision.
Are there remote mid level antenna engineer jobs?
Yes, though the field skews toward on-site work given the lab and hardware requirements. About 0% of mid level antenna engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically in roles focused on simulation, systems integration, or design review rather than hands-on fabrication and testing.
How do I move up to a mid level antenna engineer role?
Moving from entry to mid level means building a record of owned outcomes, not just assisted tasks. Focus on deepening expertise in specific antenna types, simulation platforms, or measurement techniques, and seek out projects where you hold end-to-end responsibility. Demonstrating that you can scope work, resolve technical blockers, and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders signals readiness for mid level scope.
Which industries hire the most mid level antenna engineers?
Mid Level antenna engineer roles concentrate in Telecommunications, Electronics & Hardware, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive demand because they build products and systems where antenna performance is a core engineering constraint, from phased arrays in defense platforms to compact integrated antennas in consumer wireless devices.
