The Wyndham Garden Baronne Plaza, located at 201 Baronne, is now hiring for an AGM.
The Assistant General Manager works with the General Manager to focus on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and employee development, while maintaining the hotel's integrity.
Education & Experience:
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
Essential:(PARTIAL LIST)
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Expotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel, but which will include a mandatory 8 a.m. daily WBR meeting.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with Expotel dress code and wearing a name tag when working.
- Comply with and ensure adherence to Expotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads.
- Assist in conducting weekly staff meetings, including weekly training sessions presented by managers and self, using the steps to effective training according to Expotel standards, and the review of previous and future sales and operations efforts.
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely fashion.
- Attend the monthly financial review with all department managers.
- Ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and Expotel standard checkbook accounting procedures.
- Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate-sponsored training programs.
- Maintain Direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees.
- Adhere to all Expotel policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the Expotel budget process, as required.
- Ensure that training in service standards is taking place in each department using the steps for effective training according to Expotel standards, including compliance in all departments with Expotel Standard of the Week training.
- Assist in creating a positive, team-oriented environment that focuses on the guest through employee development and motivation.
