Behavioral Health Authorizations Coordinator
Type: Regular

The Authorizations Coordinator will support the business office by managing authorization functions for behavioral health services. Working under the direction of the Business Office Manager, this role ensures that all authorizations are processed accurately and in a timely manner to support efficient billing and service delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform authorization functions as directed by the Business Office Manager.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of authorizations for behavioral health services.
- Collaborate with internal departments to verify authorization requirements and ensure compliance.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all authorizations.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving authorization-related issues.
- Communicate with insurance providers, agencies, and other stakeholders to secure necessary approvals.
- Work closely with the billing and clinical teams to facilitate seamless service delivery.
- Perform additional administrative and support duties as assigned.

- Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting unit needs.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One year of experience in HR, payroll, or a related administrative role preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and office management software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external partners.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
- Must be able to pull a minimum of 20 lbs.
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
- Required to regularly stand and walk.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
