Business Intelligence Intern Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence intern in Louisiana?
Most Louisiana employers hire business intelligence interns who are actively enrolled in a degree program in data analytics, information systems, management information systems, or computer science. Louisiana universities such as LSU, Tulane, and the University of New Orleans offer programs that align well with these roles. No state-issued license is required. Building a portfolio of SQL queries and dashboard projects, even from coursework, strengthens your application significantly.
Which companies hire business intelligence interns in Louisiana?
Louisiana business intelligence intern roles are posted by EDG, Ochsner Health, and Ware Immigration and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's energy corridor and large healthcare systems in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas are particularly consistent sources of internship postings throughout the year.
Which Louisiana cities have the most business intelligence intern jobs?
Metairie, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge have the most business intelligence intern openings in Louisiana. New Orleans drives volume through its large healthcare networks and financial services firms, Baton Rouge benefits from state government agencies, petrochemical headquarters, and LSU-affiliated employers, and Shreveport draws openings from regional healthcare systems and energy operations in the northwestern part of the state.
Are there remote business intelligence intern jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business intelligence work is largely desk-based and output-driven. About 50% of business intelligence intern openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and reporting tasks translate to distributed work. Dashboard development and data modeling are the sub-tasks most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a business intelligence intern in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying through structured internship programs at large Louisiana anchor employers. Ochsner Health, the Louisiana state government's Office of Technology Services, and energy companies like Entergy post semester-based intern cohorts specifically designed for students without professional experience. Substituting coursework projects, a GitHub portfolio showing SQL and visualization work, or a Google Data Analytics or Microsoft Power BI certification gives your application an edge when you have no work history to show.
Where can I find and apply to business intelligence intern jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to business intelligence intern jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Louisiana openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your skills and availability, and apply directly to the employers posting them. No account creation is required to search.
