Human Resources Intern Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human resources intern in Louisiana?
Human resources intern roles in Louisiana do not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through your academic enrollment. Louisiana employers typically look for students actively pursuing a degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field at institutions such as LSU, Tulane, or the University of New Orleans. Completing coursework in employment law or organizational behavior and applying directly to internship postings at healthcare systems, energy firms, or state agencies puts you in the strongest position.
Which companies hire human resources interns in Louisiana?
Louisiana human resources intern roles are posted by The Workforce, Entergy, and Ochsner Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's mix of large healthcare networks, utilities, and public universities makes for a broad range of HR intern host organizations across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most human resources intern jobs?
Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette lead Louisiana for human resources intern openings. New Orleans and Baton Rouge drive most of the volume given their concentration of major hospital systems, corporate headquarters, and flagship universities, while Shreveport's large medical centers and regional employers account for a meaningful share of northwest Louisiana postings.
Are there remote human resources intern jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, though they are less common than in fully desk-based fields, since HR intern work often involves in-person onboarding support, file handling, and employee interaction. About 21% of human resources intern openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting growing flexibility in the role. HRIS data entry, recruiting coordination, and benefits research are the tasks most often performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a human resources intern in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying through your university's career services office, which maintains direct pipelines to Louisiana employers running structured intern programs, including Ochsner Health's workforce development initiatives and Entergy's summer internship cohorts. Lateral moves from student organizations, administrative assistant roles, or volunteer coordination build the people-management exposure hiring managers look for. Completing the SHRM student membership program and earning an introductory HR certification gives Louisiana applicants a concrete credential edge even before graduation.
Where can I find and apply to human resources intern jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to human resources intern jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Louisiana openings in one place. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and availability, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
