Business Analyst Intern Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business analyst intern in Louisiana?
The most direct path is enrollment in a business administration, management information systems, or data analytics program at a Louisiana university such as LSU, Tulane, or the University of New Orleans, then applying to structured internship programs during your sophomore or junior year. No state-issued license is required for this role in Louisiana. Employers typically look for coursework in statistics, systems analysis, or business process management, along with a demonstrated ability to work with data tools like Excel or SQL.
Which companies hire business analyst interns in Louisiana?
Employers hiring business analyst interns in Louisiana right now include CVS Health, Walgreens, and Republic Finance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's energy, healthcare, and financial services sectors are particularly active, with major regional firms running recurring internship cohorts tied to their project and planning cycles.
Which Louisiana cities have the most business analyst intern jobs?
Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport have the most business analyst intern openings in Louisiana. New Orleans leads because of its concentration of healthcare systems, financial institutions, and technology firms, while Baton Rouge's energy industry and state government agencies generate steady demand, and Shreveport's growing healthcare and manufacturing presence supports additional openings outside the southeast corridor.
Are there remote business analyst intern jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business analysis is primarily a desk and documentation-based role that translates well to distributed work. About 22% of business analyst intern openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in this function. Requirements-gathering, reporting, and data analysis tasks are most commonly performed remotely, while stakeholder workshops and on-site process observations tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a business analyst intern in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to formal internship programs at large Louisiana employers such as Ochsner Health, Entergy, or regional credit unions that recruit directly from Louisiana universities each spring. Building a portfolio of class projects, case competitions, or volunteer data work demonstrates analytical capability when professional experience is limited. Adjacent roles like data entry analyst, junior reporting assistant, or operations support coordinator at Louisiana companies are common stepping stones, and completing a recognized certification in business analysis fundamentals strengthens any application.
