You will join the Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV), part of the DASY Division, a world leader in emergency evacuation systems and crew oxygen systems, Safran Aerosystems is also a major player in fuel and fluid systems.
The Business Process Engineer is responsible for creating, optimizing, documenting, implementing, managing, and monitoring the businesses processes required to make Safran Aero Evacuation a world class manufacturer.
Ensures all business processes are optimized, fully documented, controlled, followed and aligned to the Quality Systems Manual when applicable.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Process Management:
- Management of all aspects of the Business Process Management Program.
- Continuously identify areas requiring improvement and process documentation at all locations.
- Optimize and streamline new and existing processes.
- Simulate processes with iGrafx software when required.
- Revise process maps and related documentation when required.
- Assist with the implementation and modification of newly defined processes.
- Post all process maps and related documentation.
- Validate new process implementations.
- Validate existing business processes within Air Cruisers Company when required.
- Participate on Continuous improvement and Lean teams when required.
- Lead Lean and Continuous improvement teams within the Business Process Management Program.
Business Process Control & Monitoring:
- Create a system to manage all process maps and work instructions related to business processes.
- Fully document the requirements for creating standardized process maps.
- Create and manage standardized process map templates.
- Create and manage a process map change process.
- Create an audit plan to monitor compliance to documented processes and align with Quality system audits.
- Conduct audits and issue nonconformance reports needed. Ensure corrective actions are in place and effective.
- Approve all process map revisions.
- Ensure all process maps utilize a standardized format.
- Ensure all process maps are created using Microsoft Visio or iGrafx software.
General Tasks:
- Maintain a list of all active, future, and completed business process management tasks.
- Provide a written monthly status report when requested.
- Present a quarterly progress report to upper management when requested.
- Provide a written report within 2 weeks of the fiscal year end detailing all accomplishments achieved during the fiscal year.
Job Requirements
Language Skills:
- Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals related to business process management - Advanced
- Must be able to clearly and effectively present information to team members and management in English - Advanced
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus – Basic
Mathematical Skills:
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations including rates, ratios, percentages, and yields - Advanced
General Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project - Advanced
- Must be able to create process maps in both Microsoft Visio and iGrafx - Advanced
- Must be able to manage the iGrafx document repository - Advanced
- Must be able to simulate processes using the iGrafx software - Advanced
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions - Advanced
- Ability to analyze business processes and identify best practices and areas requiring improvement - Advanced
- Ability to make decisions based on facts - Advanced
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work independently with little direction - Advanced
- Able to coordinate and lead meetings - Advanced
- Able to work effectively within a team environment - Advanced
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time - Advanced
- Must have the ability to deliver to plan and deadlines - Advanced
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- ERP system training
- Business Process Management Training
- Member of the American Society for Quality and the Business Process Management Institute organizations - Preferred.
- Certificate of Training in business process management from the Business Process Management Institute or equivalent - Certification preferred.
- Auditor Training - Certification preferred.
Travel:
Frequent travel and extended duration stays at all Air Cruiser facilities to work on Business Process Management projects and activities are required.
Physical Demands:
- Most work is conducted from a sitting position, however, both standing and walking are required as well as ability to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Must be able to lead teams and facilitate process mapping activities within a team environment.
