Position Overview
The Vice President, Direct‑to‑Employer (DTE) Business is a senior enterprise leader responsible for defining, launching, and scaling Sutter Health’s DTE portfolio, positioning the organization as a preferred strategic partner for employers, consultants, brokers, and coalitions. This role drives the end‑to‑end DTE strategy, aligning market growth with system priorities across population health, value‑based care, and consumer access. The VP is accountable for achieving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening employer relationships and retention, ensuring product‑market fit, and delivering measurable value across total cost of care, quality outcomes, access, and patient experience. This leader oversees the identification and prioritization of key employer segments, including national, jumbo, regional, public sector, and labor, and the development of differentiated, employer‑ready solutions such as bundled offerings, direct contracting and risk‑based models, access‑focused pathways, and innovative care delivery models (e.g., virtual‑first, concierge, and on‑site services). In close partnership with clinical operations, service line leaders, and the medical group, the VP ensures solutions are clinically differentiated, operationally scalable, and financially viable, with competitive pricing and clear value propositions. The role maintains executive‑level relationships with employers and key market intermediaries, leading complex negotiations, contract structures, and performance guarantees while representing Sutter Health as a thought leader in employer health transformation. With full P&L accountability, the VP drives disciplined execution of business plans, collaborates with operational teams to ensure readiness and service excellence, and establishes performance metrics tied to employer outcomes, including utilization, quality, access, experience, and productivity. Additionally, the VP leads the development of a compelling employer value story grounded in transparent, credible, and auditable data, spanning cost savings, clinical outcomes, and experience measures. The position requires building and leading a high‑performing, cross‑functional team while serving as a critical connector across clinical operations, value‑based care, health plan, digital, and access functions to ensure seamless delivery and sustained growth of the DTE portfolio.

Senior Level Business To Business Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level business to business job?
Employers hiring at the senior level look for candidates who have owned complex B2B sales cycles or client relationships end-to-end, not just contributed to them. A strong edge comes from demonstrating measurable outcomes, such as growing an account portfolio or leading a team through a major contract renewal. Highlighting cross-functional leadership and strategic account planning in your resume and interviews signals readiness for this level.
Which companies hire senior level business to businesss?
Companies hiring senior level business to businesss right now include Google, T-Mobile, and Sifive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level is driven by enterprise software firms, professional services organizations, and large-scale distributors that depend on senior talent to manage high-value client relationships and complex deal structures.
Are there remote senior level business to business jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are a real part of the senior level market. About 25% of senior level business to business openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how many enterprise employers have built distributed sales and account leadership teams that operate effectively without a fixed office requirement.
What makes a business to business role senior level?
A senior level business to business role is defined by ownership and scope rather than task execution. Senior professionals set account strategy, lead or mentor junior team members, manage large or complex client portfolios, and are accountable for revenue or retention targets. They operate with significant autonomy, represent the company in high-stakes client conversations, and often influence product or service direction based on market feedback.
