Entry Level Chemist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level chemist job?
Focus on hands-on experience first: lab coursework, undergraduate research, or an internship all signal readiness to entry level employers. Tailor your resume to highlight specific techniques you've used, such as chromatography, titration, or spectroscopy. A concise cover letter that connects your academic work to the employer's industry, whether pharma, food science, or manufacturing, gives you a concrete edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level chemists?
Companies hiring entry level chemists right now include Clean Harbors, Veolia, and Eurofins, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Entry level openings come from a broad mix of employers, including large chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, contract research organizations, environmental testing labs, and consumer goods companies actively building junior talent pipelines.
Are there remote entry level chemist jobs?
Yes, though most chemistry roles require in-person lab access. About 0% of entry level chemist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve data analysis, regulatory documentation, or quality assurance work that doesn't require bench time. If flexibility matters to you, filtering by work setting will help you find those openings quickly.
Are these new grad chemist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior chemist roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or co-ops in place of full-time history, and values lab coursework or a senior thesis project. If a listing says 'no experience required' or 'entry level considered,' it's generally open to new grads.
Which industries hire the most entry level chemists?
Entry level chemist roles concentrate in Medical Devices, Consulting & Professional Services, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
