Clinical Assistant Jobs in New Orleans: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical assistant job in New Orleans?
New Orleans hiring concentrates in the Medical District, where large hospital systems and academic medical centers anchor most openings, and in Metairie and Kenner for outpatient and specialty clinic roles. Candidates who have hands-on patient care experience, familiarity with electronic health records, and a history working in fast-paced clinical environments stand out. Applying directly to health system career portals and specialty practices in these corridors gives you the strongest foothold.
Which companies hire clinical assistants in New Orleans?
Companies currently hiring clinical assistants in New Orleans include Louisiana State University, LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans, and Tulane University, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Orleans employers range from large academic medical centers and multi-site hospital networks to independent specialty clinics and federally qualified health centers serving the region.
Are there remote clinical assistant jobs in New Orleans?
Yes, though remote work is limited for this role since most clinical assistant duties require direct patient interaction and on-site presence. About 0% of clinical assistant openings tied to New Orleans are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the remote-eligible work skewing toward prior-authorization, medical records, and care coordination tasks rather than hands-on clinical functions.
How can I get a clinical assistant job in New Orleans with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in New Orleans is through federally qualified health centers and community clinics, which regularly hire entry-level candidates and provide structured on-the-job training.
