Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 18:30-06:30
- 36/48 rotating schedule
- Weekend rotation every other weekend required
- Floating required to all areas
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
- Epic charting system experience required
- Works with adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU patient populations
- Cares for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, oscillator, IMV, and SIMV
- Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Administers various respiratory medications and uses multiple delivery systems
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high-risk delivery assistance
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
- BLS, CRT or RRT required
- NRP required
- ACLS, PALS preferred
- LA state license required (license required if applicable)
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
- Proficient in chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene techniques
- Experience with patient transport, both inter-departmental and ambulance
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services across adult critical care, emergency, and NICU units
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams in a hospital setting
- Accepts local candidates within 75 miles at the local rate
- Candidates must not have been a permanent employee at the health system within the past year to be eligible
- First-time travelers may be considered unless otherwise specified
