Clinical Data Manager Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data manager in Kentucky?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in a life sciences, nursing, health informatics, or statistics field, followed by entry-level work as a clinical data coordinator or data associate at a Kentucky health system or CRO. Kentucky does not require a state-issued license specific to clinical data management, but employers consistently prefer or require the Society of Clinical Data Management's Certified Clinical Data Manager credential. University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville both offer programs that build relevant technical foundations.
Which companies hire clinical data managers in Kentucky?
Kentucky clinical data manager roles are posted by Turner Construction Company, Speechify, and Tire Discounters and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisville's concentration of large health insurers and integrated delivery networks makes it the most active Kentucky market for this role.
Which Kentucky cities have the most clinical data manager jobs?
Louisville, Lexington, and Florence account for the largest share of clinical data manager openings in Kentucky. Louisville leads because of its dense cluster of health insurers, hospital systems, and CRO satellite offices, while Lexington draws demand from University of Kentucky HealthCare's research enterprise and the surrounding academic medical center community.
Are there remote clinical data manager jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, and more than most fields, because clinical data management is fundamentally a desk-based and analytical role with few requirements for physical site presence. About 40% of clinical data manager openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly sponsors and CROs have adopted distributed data teams. Database build, data review, and query management tasks are the most consistently performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a clinical data manager in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical data coordinator or data entry associate role at a Kentucky hospital research department or a CRO with Kentucky operations, where structured onboarding exposes you to CDISC standards and EDC tools under supervision. Norton Healthcare and University of Kentucky HealthCare regularly bring on research coordinators without extensive prior data management backgrounds. Completing the CCDM exam or an accredited health informatics certificate from a Kentucky institution, and building a portfolio of sample data management plans, meaningfully strengthens applications for those without direct trial experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Kentucky?
You can find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Kentucky on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
