Clinical Data Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data manager in Massachusetts?
Most clinical data manager roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in life sciences, biostatistics, health informatics, or a closely related field. There is no state-issued license for this role in Massachusetts, but employers in the Boston biopharma corridor consistently expect proficiency with CDISC standards and EDC platforms. A Certified Clinical Data Manager credential from the Society for Clinical Data Management strengthens candidates significantly and is widely recognized by Massachusetts hiring teams.
Which companies hire clinical data managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring clinical data managers in Massachusetts right now include CVS Health, Katalyst Healthcares & Life Sciences, and RadNet, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of global biopharma headquarters and contract research organizations along the Route 128 and I-495 corridors means hiring is unusually consistent throughout the year.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most clinical data manager jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Massachusetts have the most clinical data manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge dominate because of the region's dense concentration of biopharma headquarters, academic medical centers, and contract research organizations, while suburban locations along Route 128 reflect major employers who have anchored operations outside the city core.
Are there remote clinical data manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. Clinical data management is a desk-based analytical role with no patient-facing requirement, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 88% of clinical data manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with data review, query management, and database lock activities being the tasks most commonly performed off-site.
How can I get hired as a clinical data manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a clinical data coordinator or data entry associate role at a contract research organization or hospital-based research office in the Boston area. Massachusetts employers including large academic medical centers and CROs with local offices regularly hire for these associate-level positions, which build the EDC and CDISC exposure hiring managers want. Completing a CCDM prep course and earning the credential signals readiness even without years of direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Massachusetts?
