Clinical Data Manager Jobs in New Mexico: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data manager in New Mexico?
Most clinical data managers in New Mexico enter the field with a bachelor's degree in life sciences, health informatics, nursing, or a related discipline, then move into data coordinator roles at a research institution or health system. New Mexico does not require a state-issued license for this role. Earning the Society of Clinical Data Management's Certified Clinical Data Manager credential strengthens a candidacy considerably, and many hiring managers at UNM Health Sciences or Lovelace Biomedical treat it as a differentiator when evaluating applicants.
Which companies hire clinical data managers in New Mexico?
Employers hiring clinical data managers in New Mexico right now include Oracle, University of New Mexico, and CUPERTINO ELECTRIC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Academic medical centers and biomedical research organizations tied to Albuquerque's research corridor tend to post the most consistent openings throughout the year.
Which New Mexico cities have the most clinical data manager jobs?
Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Los Alamos are the cities with the most clinical data manager openings in New Mexico. Albuquerque dominates the distribution because it anchors the state's academic medical and biomedical research activity, with institutions like UNM Health Sciences Center and Lovelace Biomedical driving sustained hiring, while Santa Fe and other metro areas contribute smaller but steady volumes tied to state health agencies and contract research organizations.
Are there remote clinical data manager jobs in New Mexico?
Yes, and more than most clinical roles, because data management work is predominantly desk-based and software-driven rather than hands-on. About 35% of clinical data manager openings tied to New Mexico are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed teams. Regulatory submissions, data query resolution, and database build tasks are the functions most frequently performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a clinical data manager in New Mexico with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at a New Mexico academic or hospital research program, particularly at UNM Health Sciences Center or Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, both of which post entry-level research support positions that build direct data management exposure. Completing CDISC foundational training and obtaining an associate-level SCDM credential before applying gives candidates a concrete edge and signals readiness for data-heavy responsibilities without requiring prior CDM job titles.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in New Mexico?
You can find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in New Mexico on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
