Clinical Data Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data manager in Utah?
Most clinical data manager roles in Utah require a bachelor's degree in a life sciences, health informatics, or statistics discipline, followed by entry-level experience in clinical data operations or clinical research coordination. Utah does not issue a state license specific to clinical data management, but the Society of Clinical Data Management offers the Certified Clinical Data Manager credential, which Utah employers at institutions like University of Utah Health and Intermountain Health recognize as a meaningful differentiator when hiring.
Which companies hire clinical data managers in Utah?
Utah clinical data manager roles are posted by University of Utah, E-Technologies Group, and Northrop Grumman and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's concentration of health systems and contract research organizations along the Wasatch Front makes it one of the more active regional markets for this role in the Mountain West.
Which Utah cities have the most clinical data manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Eagle Mountain account for the largest share of clinical data manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors demand through its health system headquarters and university medical research programs, while Provo and Orem draw openings from the growing life sciences and health technology companies clustered in Utah County's research parks.
Are there remote clinical data manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields, because clinical data management is fundamentally a desk and data-systems role that rarely requires physical presence at a study site. About 44% of clinical data manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how widely contract research organizations and sponsor companies have normalized distributed data teams. Database build, edit check programming, and data review work are the functions most consistently offered remotely.
How can I get hired as a clinical data manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into data management from a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role, since hands-on study experience satisfies the foundational knowledge employers expect. University of Utah Health and Intermountain Health both run clinical research training programs that place coordinators into data-adjacent functions, which frequently convert into data management positions. Completing coursework in CDISC standards and earning an entry-level clinical data management certificate gives candidates a concrete credential to reference when applying to those programs.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to clinical data manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and preferred location or work arrangement, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
