Clinical Operations Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical operations manager in Utah?
Most clinical operations managers in Utah enter the role through a combination of a clinical background and progressive administrative experience. A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field is the standard entry point, with many employers preferring a master's in health administration or business. Utah does not require a state-specific management license for this role, though hiring managers at large health systems like Intermountain Health often favor candidates who hold active Utah clinical licensure in nursing or another discipline alongside their management credentials.
Which companies hire clinical operations managers in Utah?
Employers hiring clinical operations managers in Utah right now include University of Utah, Woundtech, and bioMerieux, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Utah's concentration of integrated health systems and growing life sciences sector means openings appear across both clinical delivery and research operations settings.
Which Utah cities have the most clinical operations manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sandy have the most clinical operations manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of demand as the home base for Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health, while Provo and Ogden reflect strong regional hospital networks and expanding outpatient and specialty care infrastructure that support dedicated operations management roles.
How can I get hired as a clinical operations manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a clinical supervisor or lead coordinator role first, which large Utah employers like Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health use as a pipeline into operations management. Look for posted titles such as clinical coordinator, department supervisor, or operations specialist within their ambulatory or specialty care divisions. Completing a master's in health administration through the University of Utah or Westminster University, or earning a Certified Medical Manager credential, gives candidates a measurable edge when competing for a first management role.
