Clinical Development Specialist Jobs in Detroit: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical development specialist job in Detroit?
Focus your search on Midtown's hospital and research institutions, the pharmaceutical and medical device companies anchored in the Metro Detroit suburban corridor, and the contract research organizations operating out of Southfield and Troy. Candidates with experience in oncology, cardiovascular, or rare disease trials gain an edge locally, as do those familiar with site management and regulatory documentation for multi-site studies common in this market.
Which companies hire clinical development specialists in Detroit?
Companies currently hiring clinical development specialists in Detroit include StockX, Savino Del Bene, and DHL, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Detroit's hiring mix leans toward large health systems, regional pharmaceutical firms, and contract research organizations serving the broader Great Lakes clinical trial network.
Are there remote clinical development specialist jobs in Detroit?
Yes, though with limits: hands-on site coordination and patient-facing duties require in-person presence, while medical writing, data review, and regulatory affairs tasks are frequently remote. About 40% of clinical development specialist openings tied to Detroit are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry norms. Roles at Detroit-area CROs and pharma sponsors tend to offer the most hybrid flexibility.
How can I get a clinical development specialist job in Detroit with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Detroit is through clinical research coordinator or study coordinator roles at the Henry Ford Health or Detroit Medical Center systems, which regularly hire candidates with life sciences degrees and train them on-site. Internships with Metro Detroit CROs and entry-level regulatory affairs assistant positions at Southfield-based pharma firms also open doors, and certifications in clinical research fundamentals strengthen any early-career application here.
Which industries hire the most clinical development specialists in Detroit?
Detroit clinical development specialist roles concentrate in Retail, Manufacturing, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Detroit's strong health system infrastructure, automotive-adjacent medical device manufacturing, and growing CRO presence make those sectors the primary local demand drivers for this role.
