Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit serving as the facility's main cardiac monitoring unit
- Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain
- May also take overflow medical patients as needed
- Patients monitored both on the unit and via remote telemetry room
- Manages cardiac drips
- Typical patient ratios of 1:5-6, with potential to increase to 1:7 during call-ins
- Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 0700-1930
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required depending on volume or census
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Comfort with high patient ratios (1:5-7) required
Additional Information
- Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Maximum RTO of 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, must be willing to work 1 of the 3 holidays
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- Previous travelers must have been off assignment for at least 3 years before returning
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, and post cardiac cath/surgery care are valued
- Experience with TAVR, pacemakers, and sheath removal is a plus
