Clinical Research Director Jobs in Scottsdale: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical research director job in Scottsdale?
The strongest path into a clinical research director role in Scottsdale is through the city's established biotech and medical device sector, particularly the companies clustered in the Scottsdale Airpark and North Scottsdale corridors. Candidates with oncology, cardiovascular, or rare disease trial experience gain the most traction with local employers. Building relationships with the research teams at Scottsdale's hospital networks and specialty clinics also opens doors that standard applications often don't.
Which companies hire clinical research directors in Scottsdale?
Scottsdale clinical research director roles are posted by HonorHealth, Plexus Worldwide, and Colgate-Palmolive and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Scottsdale's hiring mix tends to skew toward mid-size biotech firms, contract research organizations, and the research arms of its larger integrated health systems.
Are there remote clinical research director jobs in Scottsdale?
Yes, though with limits, since clinical research directors typically oversee on-site trial operations, staff, and regulatory compliance that require physical presence. About 33% of clinical research director openings tied to Scottsdale are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to skew toward protocol development, regulatory strategy, and vendor oversight functions that can run effectively off-site.
How can I get a clinical research director job in Scottsdale with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Scottsdale is moving up through clinical research associate or clinical research manager roles at one of the city's contract research organizations or mid-size biotech firms, which routinely promote from within. Scottsdale's hospital research departments and specialty practice groups also hire coordinators who gain the cross-functional exposure needed to reach director level. Gaining hands-on trial management experience locally is more effective than broad credentials alone.
Which industries hire the most clinical research directors in Scottsdale?
Most clinical research director openings in Scottsdale sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Chemicals & Materials, and Retail, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Scottsdale's concentration of specialty clinics, medical device manufacturers, and a growing contract research organization presence makes these sectors the primary engines of local hiring for this role.
