Job Summary

The Quality & Safety Informaticist provides project management and analytical support for quality and safety initiatives. This role develops and maintains data for dashboards and scorecards, analyzes data, and leads reporting efforts for internal programs and UCDH senior leadership. Responsibilities include tracking, trending, monitoring, and communicating performance outcomes, as well as evaluating the impact of quality and safety initiatives across multiple programs.

The position supports systemwide efforts in patient safety, quality improvement, patient experience, and outcomes reporting. By collaborating closely with service lines, departments, and providers, the analyst helps drive excellence in patient care, safety, and effective use of clinical resources.

This role requires strong judgment, creativity, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively. The analyst works independently under general direction while partnering with Clinical Care Services leadership to ensure program success. A solid understanding of healthcare delivery systems and analytic tools is essential.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

• Epic Clarity/Caboodle Data Model Certification. Must obtain within 6 months of hire if not currently certified.
• Experience with healthcare analytics within a healthcare organization
• Advanced experience developing and managing databases, integrating large datasets, and creating custom reports and data extracts. Proficient in programming, statistical analysis, and reporting using analytics software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Advanced analytical abilities, including statistics and data interpretation. Knowledge of healthcare data, quality improvement, and information systems. Demonstrated project management, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing priorities and deadlines.

Department Overview

The Quality and Safety Department is responsible for systemwide patient safety and quality excellence, performance improvement, patient experience, outcomes management and reporting. Through close interaction with executive leadership, departments, units and providers, these functions promote excellence in patient care, patient safety, patient experience and utilization of clinical resources. The Quality Initiatives and Reporting team serves to lead and guide program development, project management, and data analytics needs of the department, as a strong, service-oriented and consultative team, focused on delivering high-quality analytics and program support.
