Title and Summary
Manager, Community & Belonging
The Project Manager, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), will play an important role in helping Mastercard strengthen employee engagement, inclusion and community across a global portfolio of ERGs. This role supports the strategy, planning and execution of high-impact programs and initiatives that help foster belonging, elevate employee voice and reinforce Mastercard’s culture.
The ideal candidate brings strong project management discipline, sound judgment and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. They are energized by turning ideas into action, working across functions and helping scale programs that create meaningful employee and business impact. This individual will help translate strategy into execution, strengthen operational rigor, surface insights and ensure ERG programming is delivered with consistency, quality and measurable value.
About the Role
- Manage a portfolio of ERG programs and initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives, timelines, budgets and success measures.
- Drive coordination across annual planning cycles, event calendars, communications milestones and cross-functional deliverables to enable consistency and scale across ERGs and regions.
- Partner with the VP, ERG Strategy to support ERG leaders, executive sponsors and cross-functional stakeholders in delivering high-quality programs that strengthen employee engagement and belonging.
- Build and maintain project plans, governance trackers, meeting cadences, status updates and risk or issue management processes that strengthen visibility and accountability.
- Support the execution of ERG events, campaigns and strategic activations, helping ensure programs are well-coordinated, thoughtfully delivered and aligned to enterprise priorities.
- Track budgets, funding requests, invoices and supporting processes to ensure timely, accurate and well-governed program operations.
- Develop clear, concise presentations, updates and materials for internal stakeholders and leadership audiences, including content that highlights progress, outcomes and opportunities.
- Track participation, engagement and program performance metrics; synthesize insights and recommend improvements that increase effectiveness, visibility and impact.
- Identify opportunities to improve ERG tools, processes and ways of working, including the use of AI and BI capabilities to increase efficiency, insight generation and program impact.
- Maintain resources, documentation and operational guidance that help ERG leaders navigate governance expectations and sustain program continuity.
All About You
- Experience in project or program management, ideally within employee experience, HR, communications, community engagement, nonprofit, culture or related functions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to move initiatives from concept to completion while navigating competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages and materials for a range of audiences, including leadership.
- Comfort building trusted relationships across functions and levels, influencing stakeholders and coordinating work without direct authority.
- Analytical mindset with experience tracking metrics, managing budgets and translating data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Strong storytelling capability, with the ability to turn events, progress and outcomes into clear, compelling narratives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management, collaboration, workflow, AI or BI tools is a plus.
- Curiosity and learning agility, with an interest in emerging tools and technologies that can improve efficiency, insight and program delivery.
- Passion for inclusion, belonging and employee engagement, with an understanding of how ERGs can support culture, community and business priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience preferred.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
