Align your experience with Apple's supply chain
Apple's Procurement team focuses heavily on hardware component sourcing, supplier qualification, and cost negotiation for consumer electronics. Candidates who can speak to semiconductor, display, or battery supply chain experience will stand out far more than generalist procurement backgrounds.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Procurement roles
Apple's Procurement postings are scattered across multiple job boards and rotate quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple Procurement roles that confirm visa sponsorship, so you're targeting live openings rather than outdated listings.
Prepare your LCA documentation before offer stage
Apple's legal team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B or E-3 petition can proceed. Knowing your prevailing wage level for your specific Procurement role and location helps you evaluate an offer against DOL wage requirements before signing.
Start OPT renewal conversations early with your manager
If you're on F-1 OPT and Apple selects you in the H-1B lottery, there's a gap between OPT expiry and October 1 cap-gap status. Raise the timeline with your hiring manager before your start date so your team can plan project coverage around the potential interruption.
Target roles with specific commodity ownership
Apple's Procurement organization is structured around commodity categories rather than generalist buying. Roles with explicit commodity ownership, such as mechanical components or contract manufacturing, carry clearer specialty occupation arguments for USCIS, which strengthens the H-1B petition for your specific position.

Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Procurement positions, particularly for roles involving sourcing strategy, supplier management, and commodity ownership within its hardware supply chain. Apple's legal team handles the filing process, including the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS. Roles with a clear specialty occupation basis tied to engineering or supply chain management tend to move through the petition process most smoothly.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site at jobs.apple.com and filter by the Supply Chain or Operations categories. Procurement roles at Apple often require relevant industry experience and move quickly through the interview process. You can also browse open Procurement positions at Apple filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces current listings and flags sponsorship eligibility upfront so you're not caught off guard after an offer.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Procurement professionals?
Apple uses H-1B for most internationally sponsored Procurement hires. Australian citizens are commonly sponsored on the E-3 visa, which avoids the H-1B lottery and allows earlier start dates. Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible for TN status depending on the specific role. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions are also used for recent graduates while they await H-1B selection.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Procurement roles?
Apple typically looks for a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field, combined with direct commodity or sourcing experience in the electronics or hardware industry. Familiarity with contract manufacturing, should-cost modeling, and supplier development in the consumer electronics space is valued. Roles at senior levels may require experience managing global suppliers across regions like East Asia or Southeast Asia.
How do I handle timing between OPT expiry and H-1B activation?
If your F-1 OPT expires before October 1 and Apple filed your H-1B petition by April 1, cap-gap rules allow you to continue working until your H-1B status activates. USCIS automatically extends your work authorization during this window if your petition was filed on time. Confirm your I-94 end date and petition receipt notice with Apple's immigration team to ensure there's no unintentional gap in your work authorization status.
