Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined - and now can't imagine living without. The Finance Transformation team is shaping the future of Finance from modernizing our systems, implementing innovative AI solutions, and up-skilling the workforce. We are looking for a Program Management Office (PMO) Manager who will serve as the operational backbone of our transformation portfolio by bringing structure, rigor, and strategic clarity to a highly visible program in Apple Finance.
Description
As Finance Transformation accelerates across AI adoption, systems modernization, and process redesign, this role is critical to ensuring the portfolio operates as a cohesive, well-governed program rather than a collection of independent work-streams. The ideal candidate is a self-starting manager with deep operational discipline and strong executive presence. Given the global nature of Apple's organization, this role will require flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones, with occasional evening and weekend availability during critical program milestones.
Responsibilities
-
Coaching & Mentorship: Invest meaningfully in the growth of junior and mid-career team members - teaching the fundamentals, building habits around accountability, and actively developing individuals toward greater scope and complexity. Balance mentorship with clear expectations and consistent standards.
-
Portfolio Governance & Delivery Oversight: Partner closely with the Finance Transformation lead responsible for designing the internally built PMO system - supporting the pilot rollout, integrating teams into the system, and driving sustained adoption across the Finance Transformation portfolio. Support ongoing intake, prioritization, and maintenance of the portfolio within the system as it scales.
-
Annual Planning & Off-Cycle Requests: Own the support of annual planning activities for the Finance Transformation portfolio, ensuring initiatives are sequenced, resourced, and aligned to organizational priorities. Serve as the point of contact for off-cycle project requests and software planning demand - applying consistent intake criteria and facilitating prioritization decisions with leadership.
-
Program Health, QBRs & Executive Communications Reviews: Serve as the primary orchestrator and coordinator of program health reviews across all Finance Transformation work-streams. Partner closely with transformation leads to structure review cadences, define health metrics, prepare content, and drive consistent follow-through on actions and decisions.
-
Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs): Own the coordination and preparation of QBRs for the Finance Transformation portfolio - partnering with initiative leads to synthesize progress, surface risks and dependencies, and deliver a clear, executive-ready view of the program at each quarterly milestone.
-
Executive Presentations & Communications: Develop highly polished, executive-grade presentations and written communications that convey portfolio status, risks, and strategic direction with clarity and confidence. Synthesize complex, multi-threaded program information into concise, compelling narratives that enable leadership to make fast, well-informed decisions. Communicate effectively and credibly at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications
-
10+ years of program and project management experience supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives, with direct experience in Finance programs, Finance PMO, or Strategic Finance environments.
-
5+ years of experience managing and developing a team of project managers and a mix of other staff.
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Proven ability to operate as both a people manager and an individual contributor simultaneously - leading a team while directly owning high-priority programs.
-
Strong track record of establishing clear PM expectations and holding teams accountable to fundamentals: meeting preparation, documentation, follow-through, and stakeholder communication.
-
Experience managing complex, multi-workstream portfolios with numerous interdependencies, senior stakeholders, and high organizational visibility.
-
Exceptional executive communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to craft highly polished, executive-grade presentations and communicate with clarity across all levels of an organization.
-
Strong command of project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity, Wrike).
-
Methodologies & Frameworks: Deep practical command of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), portfolio governance best practices, and structured problem-solving frameworks.
-
Domain Expertise: Familiarity with finance transformation, including the intersection of AI-driven automation, and/or ERP modernization.
-
Software Planning: Experience supporting technology intake processes, software demand planning, and off-cycle investment decisions in partnership with Finance and IT stakeholders.
-
AI Integration: Experience incorporating AI tools and capabilities into project and program management practices - including leveraging AI for planning, reporting, risk identification, or workflow automation.
-
Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification.
-
MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

Frame your credentials around Apple's hardware ecosystem
Apple's Lead Management roles in Electronics and Hardware expect familiarity with supply chain cycles, component sourcing, or product operations. Translate your experience into that context before you apply, not after you get the interview.
Target roles that align with multiple visa pathways
Apple sponsors several nonimmigrant visa types for Lead Management positions. Applying to roles that qualify under both H-1B and E-3 or TN broadens your options significantly if one pathway hits a delay or cap complication.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline with your DSO early
F-1 students targeting Apple Lead Management roles need their OPT authorization timed carefully around Apple's hiring cycles. A gap between your program end date and OPT card approval can complicate a start date, so confirm your I-20 extension well in advance.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple's open Lead Management roles
Apple posts Lead Management openings across multiple business units and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple roles that match your visa type, so you're not manually sorting through listings that won't lead to sponsorship.
Confirm LCA filing scope during the offer stage
Before accepting an offer, ask your Apple recruiter which worksite location the Labor Condition Application will cover. If your role involves supporting multiple sites or remote work, the LCA scope affects your authorized work locations under DOL rules.
Prepare for PERM timelines if you're targeting long-term residency
Apple does sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Lead Management talent, but PERM labor certification adds significant time before I-140 filing. Factor 12 to 24 months of PERM processing into your long-term planning before your nonimmigrant status requires renewal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Lead Managements?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Lead Management positions. These roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as operations management, engineering, or business. Apple also sponsors H-1B1 visas for eligible Singaporean and Chilean nationals applying to equivalent roles.
How do I apply for Lead Management jobs at Apple?
You can search Apple's careers site directly or use Migrate Mate to browse Lead Management openings at Apple filtered by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to Apple's hardware and operations context. Sponsorship conversations typically happen after an offer is extended, so confirm your visa situation with your recruiter at that stage.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Lead Management roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Lead Management positions, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for permanent residency. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. Australian citizens should ask about E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN visa.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Lead Management roles?
Apple's Lead Management positions in Electronics and Hardware typically require a bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. Familiarity with hardware product lifecycles, vendor management, or operations planning is a strong differentiator. Advanced degrees can strengthen both your candidacy and certain visa petitions like the EB-2.
How do I plan my timeline around Apple's H-1B sponsorship process?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer finalized by late March. If you're on F-1 OPT when you receive an offer, your OPT must bridge the gap to October. USCIS premium processing is available and can reduce adjudication to 15 business days, which helps if your start date is time-sensitive.
