Align your credentials to Arista's stack
Arista interviews heavily around EOS, BGP, and EVPN-VXLAN. Before applying, map your hands-on experience to these technologies explicitly in your resume. Hiring managers for Network Systems Engineer roles will screen on protocol depth, not just general networking familiarity.
Target roles in offices with established sponsorship pipelines
Arista's engineering offices in Santa Clara, San Jose, and Atlanta have longer histories of filing for Network Systems Engineers. Prioritize postings tied to these locations when you're working within a tight OPT or grace period window.
Clarify H-1B lottery timing before accepting an offer
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start. If you're on OPT and receive an offer after the lottery closes, confirm whether the employer will file for cap-exempt status or bridge you through OPT extension while waiting for the next cycle.
Use DOL LCA filings to benchmark your offer
Before signing, look up Arista's Labor Condition Application filings for Network Systems Engineer roles on the DOL Foreign Labor Certification Data Center. This shows the prevailing wage tier the company has filed at, helping you evaluate whether your offer is competitive for your location.
Prepare a strong technical portfolio for visa documentation
For H-1B petitions in specialized networking roles, USCIS scrutinizes whether the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. Document project scope, architecture decisions, and tools used so your employer's attorney can build a clear specialty occupation case.
Browse open roles through Migrate Mate before applying direct
Filter Network Systems Engineer positions at Arista Networks by visa type on Migrate Mate to confirm which openings are actively tagged for sponsorship, then apply through the company's careers portal with your networking credentials front-loaded in your application materials.

Beyond the degree, Arista looks for hands-on experience with large-scale routing and switching, proficiency with protocols like BGP, OSPF, and EVPN-VXLAN, and familiarity with Arista EOS or comparable network operating systems. Industry certifications such as CCIE or JNCIE strengthen your application, particularly for senior-level positions.
